Oracle Dev Tour: AI for Software Developers
This year Oracle organized a series of developer days and I have attended the one in Berlin (May 2025). The Oracle team showcased a couple of new features of Oracle Database 23ai and Heatwave:
- New database functions that help companies create their own RAG solution;
- Language options in the new database version (JavaScript);
- Heatwave integrated in an ecommerce application.
AI for Software Developers (October 2024)
Using GitHub Copilot I have programmed a demo tool that computes a color contrast score for two web colors. I have chosen TypeScript to calculate the score and this part was completed by Copilot. For the user interface I have used React JS. The tool is available here : demo and this is how it can be used:
- Choose one or two colors using the color pickers. At the beginning the colors red and green are shown.
- Click Refresh to get the score.
- The tool shows you the score and if the contrast is OK for small text (18px) and for big text (24px).
